Monday was the first day after Ramadan (Ramazan). There is a big celebration during at least 2-3 days, and it has a name: Eid. before Eid every muslim is sending greeting cards to his friends, buying presents for their parents and beloved once. On streets of Kabul you may see a lot of people, cars, (traffic jams): everybody is shopping just before
Eid day. I went with 2 of my colleagues on Sunday evening just to drop by local shops at Shar-e-naw district (like Khreschatyk street in Kyiv). Bought a few new DVDs:From 6-7 movies I have seen so far, these are which I would highly recommend:Kingdom of Heaven -
nice history/action movie about Crusaders. Just nice movie in general, I liked the way such a tricky issues about life, love, religion, morale and death are portrayed there. Saladin (Arabic ruler), who finaly had captured Jerusalem, is very wise and adequate leader.Tristan and Isolde
- love story. Nice movie by well-known book of the same title. Only Tristan seems to be acting like a "dumb model", maybe it was an actor's style, who knows? ;)
Pride and Prejudice -
Those [London English accent] dialogs drove me crazy! I like the play of Keira Knightley
as well. First I saw her in Love Actually.
first movie was Pirates Of The Caribbean - The Curse Of The Black
. I did not realize it was same actress, she was so thin in Pride and Prejudice ... ;)
- Love story, comedy. Kind of Chrismass tale. I saw it 1 year ago and just once more recently.
